1- Tell us about yourself.
"FR: Je suis une francaise de 36 ans, passionnee de jeux videos, et
toute la culture geek en general..
ENG: I am French, 36 years old, passionate about video games and all geek

2- Why do you cosplay Lara, what does it mean to you?
"FR: J'ai commence le cosplay en 2013 mais j'ai toujours aime me
deguiser, il fallait juste que j'assume cette passion car quand on est adulte
cest encore mal percu comme hobbie malheureusement. Pouvoir endosser toutes les
personnalites que l'on veut est vraiment ce qui me plait le plus dans le cosplay.
Le temps d'une convention cest l'equivalent d'une semaine de vacances pour mon
cerveau Bref, ca me permet une bonne coupure avec la realite qui n'est pas
toujours simple et ce sont toujours d'excellents moments d'amusement garantis.
ENG: Officially, I started to cosplay in 2013 but I always liked to wear
costumes, even though this hobby is sometimes looked down upon especially if
you're an adult, I just had to do it. Being able to be any character you want is
really what I like the most about it. Not to mention conventions are really fun
and are like mini vacations for my brain and a nice break from reality which is
not always easy. "

3- What about lara made you want to cosplay her?
"FR: J'ai commence a cosplayer Lara en 2015 avec la tenue d'Underworld, il a
fallu que j'assume mon corps et mes rondeurs mais j'ai adore jouer cette femme
forte, intelligente, intrepide. Je suis tombee encore plus amoureuse du
personnage et cest ainsi que j'ai enchaine les cosplay de cette talentueuse
femme.
ENG: My first Lara Cosplay was the Underworld outfit , I had to embrace my body
and my curves but I loved portraying this strong, intelligent and fearless
woman. I fell even more in love with the character and that's what drove me to
cosplay more and more outfits of this talented woman."

4- What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
""FR: Le record du monde a Paris evidemment! J'ai eu la chance d'y
participer et c'est lors de cette memorable journee que j'ai pu voir l'ampleur
de l'influence de Lara dans le monde entier. Je me suis trouvee une deuxième
famille et d'autres opportunites se sont enchainees depuis.
ENG: The world record in Paris obviously! I had the chance to participate and it
was during this memorable day that I could see the extent of Lara's influence
around the world. I found myself a second family and other opportunities have
ensued since.

5- What was your biggest challenge while crafting your costumes or cosplaying
in public, that sort of thing?
"FR: Le plus gros defi fût la fabrication de la tenue de Shadow, quelle
torture ce tshirt 😂 Il y a tellement d'accessoires maintenant que ca prend pas
mal de temps de sortir un nouveau cosplay de Miss Croft. Mais ca reste un reel
plaisir et un veritable challenge de sortir un nouveau cosplay, surtout quand ce
sont les plus grandes cosplayeuses qui la font en même temps que vous.
ENG: The biggest challenge was making the Shadow outfit, what a torture this
tshirt was 😂 . There are so many accessories now that it takes a lot of time to
release a new Miss Croft cosplay. But it's still a real pleasure and a real
challenge to release a new cosplay, especially when it's the biggest cosplayers
who make it at the same time as you."

6- How do you assemble your outfits?
"FR: Pour les tenues c'est principalement des vêtements que j'achète et que
je customise hors mis la tenue basique d'Underworld que j'ai entièrement
confectionne et sans patron, le sac a dos inclus ainsi que le tshirt de Shadow.
Pour les accessoires, j'essaie toujours de faire au moins coûteux et j'y arrive,
j'utilise peu le worbla par exemple juste pour une question de prix mais pour le
couteau de Shadow je n'ai pas eu le choix pour plus de realisme.
ENG: For the outfits it's mainly clothes that I buy and then customize. For the
underworld basic outfit, I made it entirely myself and without a pattern, that
included backpack and the Shadow tshirt. For accessories, I always try to be as
froogle as possible , I use only a little worbla for example, just to keep costs
down, but for the Shadow knife I did not have a choice, it had to look
realistic."

7- What is the one item you would add to the croft outfit?:
"FR: Elle est deja
bien equipee! Surtout maintenant avec le reboot, mais pourquoi pas un accessoire
genre tablette tactile comme le PDA dans Legend.
ENG: She is already well equipped! Especially now with the reboot, but why not a
kind of touch-screen device like the PDA in Legend."

8- What are your future costumes?
"FR: Je n'ai toujours pas fini le cosplay de Shadow, il me reste l'arc, le
carquois et les flèches a faire. Sinon je me tâte toujours pour faire la Tokyo
Dress que j'adore :)
ENG: I still have not finished my Shadow cosplay, I still have the bow, the
quiver and the arrows to do. Otherwise I'm still trying to make the Tokyo Dress
that I love :)" |
9- Favourite TR game:
"FR: Difficile a dire car j'avoue ne pas avoir pu jouer a tous les jeux
comme j'ai eu une console très tard. Mais je dirais ROTTR pour le moment.
ENG: Hard to say because I admit I could not play all games because I didn't
have a console until recently, but I would say ROTTR for the moment." |

"UNDERWORLD!" |

"FR: Doppelganger d'Underworld (que j'ai cosplaye egalement)
ENG: Doppelganger of Underworld (which I cosplayed also)"

Your Thoughts on the new origins story ?
"FR: Plus de realisme
pour une Lara plus proche de nous..
ENG: More realism for a Lara closer to us." |
13- Your Thoughts on all the movies ?
"FR: J'adore les actrices qui ont pu incarner Lara alors les films aussi,
même si les histoires sont un peu trop survolees je trouve qu'ils restent
fidèles a leur epoque respective.
ENG: I love the actresses who were able to play Lara, even if the stories are a
little rushed. I think they remain faithful to their respective times."

14- Do you have any advice for first time cosplayers?
"FR: Consulter ce
site pour avoir plein de conseils coiffure, maquillage, poses pour les photos,
coutures, etc. Personnellement ca m'a enormement aide pour me lancer. Sinon ne
pas hesiter a contacter d'autres cosplayeuses pour n'importe quelle informations
car mêmes les plus douees sont abordable. C'est ca la famille Croft :)
ENG: Consult this site for lots of hair tips, makeup, poses for photos, sewing,
etc. Personally it helped me a lot to get started. Or do not hesitate to contact
other cosplayers for any information because even the most talented are
approachable. That's the Croft family " |
