Introduction:
I'm Sara, I live in the USA and I am the admin of laracroftcosplay.com, I started the website back in 2007 and have been a cosplayer since late 2005. I started with Lara Croft, I did not know this would lead to such an epic love affair with this hobby.

It's no secret that i am a massive Tomb Raider fan, no matter what game, book or movie, i've loved every single incarnation, it's been my whole life and through this love, i've developed skills that I never thought possible for me and made connections with some incredible people that i wouldn't have met otherwise.

I worked for over 10 years to make sure that fellow cosplayers had everything they needed to start their own cosplay, Before this website, it was on a MySpace fan page.
I worked tirelessly to create costume, prop, hair and makeup tutorials. Also personal display galleries for them, articles that may help them navigate any troubles they encounter and not to mention the massive reference archives available here.

I frequently feature cosplayers by interviewing them, either in written form or via skype call to upload later, I also started the Cosplay Care Package Initiative where we donate supplies to beginner cosplayers that might need help getting started.

I also organized a charitable auction where we raised over $1000 for Mc Millain Cancer Support, thanks to Miss Jenifer Morgan for donating her costumes.

It's now my life mission to feature as many Tomb Raider cosplayers as possible on my site, maintain our loving community and provide a safe place for them to share their work. If you need to contact me, please use my public email tombraidercosplay@yahoo.com.

*On this page you will find my complete Tomb Raider cosplay history, even the most embarrassing oldest photos, they are important to me, and i don't want to erase them because they are part of who I am.

Rise of The Tomb Raider Remnant Jacket (Costume Made and Photographed March 2016)
- Why I chose this costume:
This is such an awesome new look to Lara, faithful to the 2013 outfit but more mature, more badass, and very weather appropriate, it's not such a huge departure from the classic Lara if you take into account the outfits available back then like Tibet , Antarctica and the Russian outfits , just modernized.
- Materials and cost:

I bought
the jacket and modified it, also bought the pants, tank tops , bow and henley. Had the boots from 2013.
I was not heavy handed with the weathering, I was in the snow, so it did not make a lot of sense for me to be muddy, I made my quiver, belt, holster, revolver, rifle pouch, pistol pouch, axe and necklace.
total cost was about $75 .

Rise of The Tomb Raider Commando (Costume Made and Photographed Febuary 2016)
- Why I chose this costume:
I really love the military look to this outfit, yet somehow retains femininity and sexiness, I love the camo and the flack jacket too!
It's so reminiscent of the area 51 outfit from TR3 , It came together so quickly as i already owned most everything, so i cosplayed it before i cosplayed the default Lara.

- Materials and cost:

I bought the flack jacket, the camo leggings, I preowned the tank, the boots , the gloves , the necklace, the knife, the axes and the bow. Also my husband was military so he had the holster just lying around. and i made the knee pads from craft foam and elastic webbing, Total cost: $55

Godess Isis: Lara Croft and The Temple of Osiris (Costume Made and Photographed Sept 2015)
- Why I chose this costume:
Everyone knows i am completely obsessed with Ancient Egypt, the love came before Tomb Raider, and i always wished i could do some kind of cosplay inspired by it.
I always considered cosplaying Anck-su-amun from the mummy. although it was an extremely revealing costume , and i did not feel totally comfy with dressing like that. Then came Lara Croft and The Temple of Osiris! I finally had something that was both Egypt and Tomb Raider related! .2

- Materials and cost:

I bough the base white dress, a broom for the staff, some pleather, black silk, a hat for the chest piece.
Total cost under $70

Tomb Raider 2013 Sam Nishimura ( Made /Photographed Auguest 2014 - 2015 by EAT Photography)
- Why I chose this costume:
This costume sort of fell into my lap really, I never intended on cosplaying it but I was Sam for a fan film and so ended up taking a few shots in costume .
- Materials and cost:

Both costumes were extremely easy to excecute, the sacrificial dress was just a piece of fabric and the headress was a few dead branches and fake flowers.
The casual sam costume is just clothes i already owned and a shirt i painted with white acrylic.
That's it!

Tomb Raider 2013 (Costume Made and Photographed 2013)
- Why I chose this costume:
Everyone knows Lara is my hero, I have loved her since discovering Angel Of Darkness, and ever since then, I really could not imagine her not being part of my every day life, i mean i run this site for god's sake haha!
As for this costume, I chose it because it was the reboot costume, I love the cargo pants and tank tops, it looks like what any explorer / researcher would wear while on an expedition,  I went for battle hardened Lara, because she is most like the lara we all know and love towards the end of the game.
I made the competition bow and haven't seen any other cosplayer do it before
.
- Materials and cost:

I bought some stuff from Kristen for around 50 dollars, but the rest I made myself and bought from ebay, i used pleather for the belt, sewed cargo pockets on my pants, made my bow and axe out of foam board and used PVC pipe to fashion a silencer for my pistol. I would say overall this cost me around 100 dollars.

Tomb Raider Underworld (Costume Made and Photographed 2009)
- Why I chose this costume:
This costume was amazing to me in terms of complexity, Lara's past costumes were very simple, this one had so many details in the belt and holsters, the backpack alone was darn near impossible to replicate, I just loved it!, the shirt and shots had these patterns on them too, just beautiful detail!
I was super happy with the fit because it made me feel really comfortable, I feel like i have a curvy body and the  clothes were very flattering, especially love the front fastened backpack strap.

- Materials and cost
:
I bought the shirt and shorts, but i already had the straps and backpack, then all i had to do was take apart an old backpack and recycle the leather from it, to make the triangular piece on the backpack itself.
The pistols are real life size airsofts, that cost me 60 dollars (I think? It was so long ago), and already owned the boots, so total cost was around 80 Dollars.

Tomb Raider Underworld Wetsuit (Costume Made and Photographed 2009 and 2014)
- Why I chose this costume:
I chose this costume because my mother's house was right by a lake and i could not resist a water photo shoot! I picked this particular wetsuit because i was broke and it was the easiest to replicate, it is actually a long sleeved shirt with yellow ribbon on it that i sewed on. So you really can cosplay if you have no money :)
Underworld had just come out and i thought it was perfect timing when i visited my mom

- Materials and cost:

In the location shoot you can see i used the backpack and belt from the standard underworld outfit, but further below in the recent photos i actually made the appropriate backpack and holsters, those were made from remenants of old backpacks and pleather i bought, soda cans for the oxygen tanks, and the suit itself was made out of a catsuit from www.halloweencostumes.com.
So all in all the first suit cost me 20 dollars and the new one cost around 50 dollars.

Tomb Raider Underworld Camo Swimsuit (Costume Made and Photographed 2012)
- Why I chose this costume:
Ok, this one is really not exactly my usual choice in costumes, i always pick the more conservative yet sexy costumes, I chose this because i had JUST lost 35lbs and i was feeling really great, but was still scared, So i needed to cosplay something out of the ordinary to prove to myself that i can.
I chose Lara's XBox camo swim suit because it is Lara , and i had the underworld accessories and bought the swimsuit for 10 dollars from an army surplus store.

- Materials and cost:

I did not make the swimsuiit, It was bought from a store for 10 dollars

Tomb Raider Anniversary (Costume Made and Photographed 2006)
- Why I chose this costume:
Wow this brings back memories, This is from 2006, I was so excited that they made a next generation version of the original game and i thought i would cosplay it to celebrate the launch
- Materials and cost:
I made my belt and holsters from recycled backpack straps, i cut my brown jeans into short shorts, i cut sleeves my ribbed blue top, bought gloves and toy guns, total was about 20 dollars

Tomb Raider Legend (Costume Made and Photographed 2006 -2012)
- Why I chose this costume:
I decided to do this costume because i had to make a tutorial about the tomb raider legend top, I did this costume back in 2006 but i was never happy with how they turned out, so i redid it for the tutorial and remade my belt and holsters, i already had the guns and the backpack is from ebay, i bought it in 2008 back before i was serious about making my own stuff.
- Materials and cost:
The shirt was actually white cotton long sleeved then i hemmed the sleeves, dyed it tan and sewed the white triangle on it. and bought the shorts and backpack long ago , everything else i had, so total cost was about 30 dollars

Tomb Raider Legend Snowsuit (Costume Made and Photographed 2014)
- Why I chose this costume:
I absolutely adore Tomb Raider Legend, and i just about lost my mind when i saw all 33 unlockable outfits, it's like playing badass barbie dress up, so i am trying to do all of them, This one was an accident , because i bought the suit for another character, Miranda Lawson from Mass Effect 2 and 3, but i found a company that sells the fabric with the pattern already on it, so then i had this suit and nothing to do with it, so i decided to do tthis costume
- Materials and cost:
I already had my backpack, belt , holsters, guns and boots, I bought the suit for 12.99 from Ebay, that was it.

- Why I chose this costume:
How can i NOT do this one, i mean come on! It's my all time favourite tomb raider outfit, and will always be but more than anything i loved the break they took from the shorts, so i had to make it
- Materials and cost:
Like before, i owned the guns and backpacks, all i did was get some pleather to make the belt and buy a black halter dress and cut its sides. Total cost was around 25 dollars

Tomb Raider Legend: suit (Costume Made and Photographed 2006)
- Why I chose this costume:
This costume is just a quickie, that i threw together because i had the suit, and i had the belt and backpack from my legend Cosplay, so i just wanted to add it to my list of completed costumes, i think i actually wore it on Halloween,
- Materials and cost:
i made my belt and holsters out of old backpack straps, and i pre-owned the suit.

Tomb Raider Legend: Special Forces (Costume Made and Photographed 2006)
- Why I chose this costume:

There's another variation of the costume above, it's the long pants from Angel of Darkness, i believe i mixed and matched from my special forces cosplay.
- Materials and cost:
I made everything, and got the closes from my closet.

Tomb Raider Classic Catsuit  (Costume Made and Photographed 2013)
- Why I chose this costume:
My favourite level out of Tomb Raider Chronicles is the London level, and this outfit was worn in that game, so as soon as i could , i put the catsuit  together and took some exact replicas of the official renders
- Materials and cost:
This catsuit is actually not a catsuit, It's made of two pieces, a leotard and leggings, My friend Xavietta made me the belt a long time ago, and i made the backpack myself, total cost around 50 dollars

- Materials and cost
About $100

 Daenerys Targaryen Quatheen dress.

- Why I chose this costume
My alltime favorite Daenerys outfit, I love the blue against the blonde hair and the gold accessories, the mesh belt and shoulders are expecially unique, not to mention the dress design and how it has a cape built in.

Jessica Sherewat

- Why I chose this costume
I am a huge fan of the resident evil series but i must confess, that the only reason I cosplayed Jessica is for the one legged wetsuit!
- Materials and cost

Made everything i am wearing , so it was not as expensive, total cost woudl be maybe about $50

The Dark Knight Rises Catwoman

- Why I chose this costume
Selina Kyle to me is an amazing character, The way she is portrayed in TDKR is very intriguing, her outfit is conservative yet  unbelievably sexy, so it was right up my alley, I loved the movie, I would have cosplayed batman, but i didn't feel like cross-playing, next logical step, do selina kyle, The biggest reason though, was the head piece, i just about lost my mind when i saw that the tactical goggles went up and made the shape of cat ears, this cosplay HAD to happen after that
- Materials and cost
Believe it or not the suit is a leotard and leggings, the boots were from Ebay, the gloves also, the headpiece was by Aleena Averly and my utility belt was made from a piece of pleather and heat shaped and carved pieces of styrofoam, that's pretty much it, the whole thing cost me 80 dollars

Excella Gionne - Resident Evil

- Why I chose this costume
Excella is a complicated character, she's the kind you love and hate at the same time, she spends most of her time being wesker's lap dog, but at the same time, I love how strong and independent she is, if you read her bio in the game, she is also absolutely brilliant. intelligent and accomplished a lot.  I had to cosplay her, for picking my first villain, i think i did pretty well.
- Materials and cost
This was during my first years of cosplay so i bought my bracelet, earrings and belt, but i also bought fabric and made that dress from scratch, total cost was about  60 dollars

Sweetpea - Sucker Punch

- Why I chose this costume
Sweetpea is not only a strong female character who is an amazing leader and fighter, she is a big sister who loves her little sister, and i can relate to her immensely in that aspect, so i had to attempt her outfit.
- Materials and cost

The coat that i bought was awful, i had to inlay the inner side with pleather to weigh it down as it was all curly, the side armor was made by me from cardboard and hot glue, i bought the stockings and attached the ammo straps to them, the gloves were heavily modified too, and i made the bra piece out of fimo other than that it was just a black bra.
Total cost was about 70 dollars

Caprica 6 - BattleStar Galactica

- Why I chose this costume
Caprica 6 although started out as a villan, eventually i grew to love her and feel for her, i fell in love with her humanity even though she was a cylon, and let's just face it, this was a challenge as i am a brunette and not stick thin like Tricia Helfer, so i needed to do this to prove i could to myself
- Materials and cost
This outfit was one of the easiest i ever accomplished. I modified a red dress that was roughly the same cut as hers, then made my jewelry out of FIMO clay such as the earrings , the bracelet, bought the wig and shoes total cost was 30 dollars

Jill Valentine - Resident Evil Apocalypse

- Why I chose this costume
Jill from the apocalypse movie was an amazing character, she was more or less renegade than play by the rules kind of girl, but she left an impression on me,  i had to cosplay her
- Materials and cost
Bought the tube top, the skirt, and made the holster and the wig, that was it, total cost was around 25 dollars
